Alex Pirola takes the crown at Mr. Westwood

Westwood Regional Jr./Sr. High School’s Student Council held their annual male talent show, Mr. Westwood. The popular event brought a large crowd of students, parents and faculty to Campbell Auditorium on Thursday, March 23 at 7:00 p.m. Westwood Student Council held this annual event. The night was full of laughter, talent and entertainment for all those who attended.
Mr. Westwood was hosted by seniors Adra Mayer and Kelsey Bross. The nine contestants were: Killian Gilroy, Christian Guma, Bryan Kim, Matthew Luhrs, Mo Muhsin, Nick Napier, Alex Pirola, Dattu Sattenapalli, Damon Vincenty. The judges panel consisted of teachers Eileen Nagle, Rusty Obra and Jessica Martello.
Contestants were escorted on stage and then competed in three separate categories: formal wear, talent and beachwear. Those with the highest overall scores moved onto the finalist round where they were interviewed. The talent portion was original and entertaining; talents ranged from singing and playing an instrument all the way to self-defense and weight lifting methods, and all things inbetween such as Donald Trump impersonations and portrait painting. Along with contestant performances, Adra Mayer and Halle Luttrell had spectators impressed with their performance of “Runaway” by Bruno Mars.
Overall, the fun, good hearted tradition of Mr. Westwood carried on. After it was announced that Alex Pirola,“math nerd rapper” had been crowned Mr. Westwood, the other eight competitors carried him on their shoulders in victory.
