On Wednesday, April 15 the halls were filled with purple while the students of Westwood High School supported Alzheimer’s Awareness Day. Alzheimer’s is the most common type of dementia diseases, where people that are diagnosed slowly begin to lose their memory. There is believed to be about 5 million people over the age of 65 diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Some kids went all out with their purple outfits adding accessories like hats and bead necklaces. It is great to see the school supporting such an important cause and bringing awareness to it.
