The Westwood Girls’ Soccer team defeated Ramsey 1-0 yesterday, November 6. Freshman starter Meghan Reidel scored the only goal of the game, assisted by senior Carlye Danziger, with 24:48 remaining. Senior goalkeeper Camryn Collova made seven saves to seal the win.

The victory was extra special for the girls since they had previously tied with Ramsey in overtime the last time they faced them. Westwood is the third seed while Ramsey is the second, making their win even more impressive

Their next game will be against Sparta, who is seeded ninth, however, Sparta recently defeated Lakeland who was the first seed of North 1. The girls will advance to the final round of New Jersey, Section 1, Group 2 tournament. The final game of the tournament will be on Thursday, November 10 at Westwood against Sparta, this will determine the Section 1, Group 2 champions.
