Ms. Rodgers is a new school counselor at Westwood this year. She’s spending time getting to know all of her students and their parents. She expressed how much she loves the environment that she works in. When her co-workers were brought up, she said nothing but positive things, even going as far as to say that “everyone on staff… is falling over themselves to help you.”
Ms. Rodgers has a bachelor’s degree in English with a minor in writing, a master’s degree in school counseling, and an educational specialist degree in professional mental health counseling from Seton Hall. After getting her bachelor’s degree, she got a job in finance as an executive assistant for a financial tech company. She did that for 13 years, when she put it on pause to raise her three kids. That’s when she decided to go back and get her master’s degree in school counseling.
After Ms.Rodgers graduated from Seton Hall with her master’s, she worked at Midland Park and Indian Hills, where she was for the last year and a half. Once she saw the position open at Westwood, she knew it would be the right fit, and applied for the position.
Outside of school, Ms.Rodgers supports her three kids. She goes to all their sporting events, which include football, basketball, lacrosse, and volleyball. Her passion for sports cannot go unsaid. Other than sports, she enjoys watching Netflix and reading a good book; anything that’ll help decompress after a long day.
