Woodington Players present fall play
November 21, 2019
This week the Woodington Players will begin performances of this year’s fall play: “Peter and the Starcatcher”, the origin story of Peter Pan. The show will star Daniel Lin as Peter and Alexa Burke as Molly. It opens on November 21 at 7pm and there will be two additional showings on November 22 and 23, also at 7 pm.
Many people that I’ve spoken to have described the play as a prequel to “Peter Pan”. It gives the backstory of the main roles and explains how Peter Pan, Captain Hook, and Neverland came to be. Marina Robles, who will be playing the character Mrs. Bumbrake, said, “The play is basically about romping through childhood memories and the longing to never grow up.”
As to what the audience can expect Robles said, “A little bit of everything, there’s a bit of seriousness, a lot of comedy, there’s also some really sweet moments, some romance.”
Music director Megan Karrow said, “It’s definitely a comedy, it’s really funny, there’s a lot of great jokes in the show, but also it’s grounded in reality so there’s a lot of character moments that might make people a bit emotional.” It is a good show for people of all ages to enjoy.
Why should audiences come out to see the show? Karrow said, “Because it’s a good time. It’s just a great show with a great cast. I really hope people will come out to watch it. Because it’s amazing.”
