Everyone and their mothers were running to theaters on April 26 to see the opening of “Avengers: Endgame”, the most anticipated movie of the decade. 

“Avengers: Endgame” is the most recent movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is very close to breaking box office records. After opening at the end of April, the movie has gotten closer and closer to surpassing “Avatar’s” record as the biggest movie of all time.

As of Monday, June 10, “Avengers: Endgame” has made $2,739,565,940 worldwide whereas “Avatar” has made $2,787,965,087 worldwide. This means that it is only $58 million away from passing “Avatar” as the highest grossing film of the 21st century. 

In an age of Netflix, Hulu, and YouTube, “Avengers: Endgame” has been able to sell more tickets than almost any movie between 1989 and 2019.
