School started for the 2016-17 academic year on Tuesday, September 6 for the students of the Westwood Regional School District.  The opening week was a smooth one that saw some changes as well as exciting moments for many students.

Assistant Principal Shelley LaForgia was in a new location on day one, now serving as the principal of the Westwood Regional Middle School.  A familiar face, Michael Corso, former supervisor of guidance, is now serving in that position.

Members of the Class of 2017 started their first day with senior privileges, including parking on campus and leaving for lunch. Most students were prepared with all of their paperwork and Senior Privilege Cards and enjoyed a lunchtime outside of school.

The first week of school also included the first football game of the year, with a hard fought game played by the team and an enthusiastic appearance by the Cardinal Crazies.  The night ended in a memorable downpour.

The fall looks to be an exciting time at Westwood Regional Jr./Sr. High School and the Cardinal Chronicle will be covering it all.  Check back for updates!
